After the end of the group stage of the World Champions Cup, the League of Legends official officially announced that the top teams in the world—the Intercontinental Tournament—will soon begin.

Eight top teams from various regions will converge in a large-scale event to compete for the glory of being the “top team in Europe”! In this event, they will respectively represent four major regions for separate or cross-server battles; among them, the top 16 players from the Chinese LPL region will advance to the finals in the host countries of Russia, South Korea, and the United States. On the stage of this intercontinental tournament, they are not only a team with outstanding strength but also the champions of this intercontinental tournament who will appear in the entire European League. From the current perspective, these teams, including RNG and FPX, will also have different performances as participating teams from clubs.

The Intercontinental Tournament is an international event jointly organized by Riot Games and Valve Corporation, consisting of eight professional players; each group has multiple subgroups, with 12 teams in each group and four qualifying players in each subgroup; the other two subgroups require two teams to enter, with six qualified members (including 3 substitutes) in each subgroup.

The match time of the Intercontinental Tournament is from October 28 to December 9, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 20:00 to 22:00 as the preparation stage, and each game lasts for 20 minutes. At the end of the game, rewards will be distributed based on the ranking of the points obtained by each team. The higher the ranking, the more generous the prize. The rewards will be announced in the following week.

When the total prize money of the Intercontinental Tournament reaches over 500 million USD, a new rank, the “Strongest King” (tentative), and the “Supreme Ace” (tentative), will be unlocked. Achieving 50 stars (tentative) and 100 medals (tentative) will also be rewarded.

In January 2021, they will hold an All-Star invitation match, and all players in this mode can participate in watching (limited to on-site watching and cannot directly join the room).
